Call for Submissions

The Dalhousie Journal of Legal Studies publishes articles, case comments, and notes that deal with issues relating to either Canadian or international law. All submissions are blindly reviewed. Submissions are primarily assessed based on originality, relevance to the profession of law, and writing style. Papers should normally not exceed 15,000 words including footnotes. Footnotes should conform to the Canadian Guide to Uniform Legal Citation (McGill Guide, 6th edition). Alternately, authors from outside of Canada must be prepared to convert their citations to Canadian style if their articles are selected for publication. For publication information, see: http://www.fedpubs.com/subject/law/legal_cit.htm.

Articles selected for publication will be judged by a prize panel, with the authors of the first, second and third place papers receiving prizes of $2000, $1000, and $500, respectively. All authors will also receive consolidated feedback on their submissions from DJLS reviewers. Additionally, for the first time this year, high quality submissions that are not selected for publication in DJLS will automatically be considered for publication in the journal’s online companion, InfraRead.

Our submission deadline for the upcoming 19th edition of the DJLS is October 16th, 2009.

All work must be submitted by email in .doc/.docx format to djls.submissions[at]gmail.com.
